 I am a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) and a member of the Faculty of Building Surveying and have been practicing since 1997. I am also a Registered Valuer, a Fellow Member of the ISVA (FISVA), a member of the RPSA (MRPSA) and The Academy of Experts (MAE). We carry out Level 1, 2 & 3 residential surveys covering modern, period, listed and thatched properties and we carry out residential valuations for a variety of purposes e.g. Help to Buy, Shared Ownership, Probate, Divorce/Separation and general valuations. We also carry out commercial surveys, expert witness surveys, party wall and building defect surveys, such as cracks, damp and boundary disputes.

We aim to provide a bespoke service that you would recommend to other people and we are happy to discuss your requirements before committing to a survey and include any specific areas of concern during the survey (within the scope of the level of survey chosen). We provide a brief email summary within 24 hours after the survey followed by the report usually within 1-3 working days. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about your survey report, either by phone or email, after the survey has taken place.

Our reports are easy to read, organised into sections with a summary of areas requiring attention now and in the future. We also include photographs and the survey report can then form part of your informed decision whether to proceed with the purchase.

I have instructed Property Surveys Devon to complete Level 3 Building Survey on one of the properties I am interested in purchasing. The report I have received was very in-depth and self-explanatory. Phil did a great job by thoroughly investigating the property, including a lot of pictures in his report and providing a lot of in-depth explanations on different areas. Annie always answered my emails swiftly and was most helpful when I had any queries.

The survey took place on Wednesday and the full report was emailed to me on Saturday, I did not expect this at all considering it was a Bank Holiday weekend. I am very pleased with work that has been carried out by Phil, Annie and Property Surveys Devon.

Property Surveys Devon recently (last week) undertook a full level 3 building survey of c.1850 cottage in Croyde Devon for me. From start to finish I cannot fault the service received and indeed they provided exceptional client service throughout.
Annie responded quickly and efficiently to all questions and enquiries. She was extremely helpful and ensured the whole process ran smoothly. The survey was undertaken within a week of instruction. Phil who undertook the survey explained things very clearly in advance on what the survey could/could not do. He was happy to talk through known concerns at the property before the survey as well as reviewing various pictures and an extensive list of questions I had put together of concerns. This gave me real confidence that he understood my needs and was not going to produce a boilerplate survey. After the survey he was very happy to talk through the survey itself. The report covered everything requested and was very clear and understandable.
Cannot recommend the team at Property Surveys Devon enough.

We used the Newton Abbot surveyor and we’ are very impressed with professional manner in which our initial enquiry was dealt with , and the survey itself was carried out promptly and the written report received the day after the survey was undertaken . We would recommend Phil Routledge to any one who wants a survey done in the Newton Abbot area

We were buying Noth Dartmoor (Coldridge) despite being Newton Abbott the surveyor Phil Routledge lived just down the road at Morchard Bishop! VERY thorough, very good local knowledge, and very professional really making our seller comfortable and at ease explaining the process every inch of the way.  A very detailed report packed with helpful advice and suggests, Money well spent, so pleased we used them, 10/10 (P.S Our seller was so impressed by Property Surveys Devon they've booked them to theirs!)

Incredible service. I had two surveys done by Phil. The first helped me avoid buying a property that had a lot of hidden defects. The second property was in better condition, but Phil's report still provided plenty of useful information that I didn't know, and might not even have found out after moving in. I spoke to Phil on the phone regarding the issues with the first property and he gave me advice that helped me move forward. I felt he was trying to give me the true picture of the situation based on his professional experience, rather than being over-cautious to 'cover his back' as some surveyors might. I felt I could trust him. He and Annie were very professional and prompt too.

I wish to write in regards to my recent experience with Property Surveys
Devon.

I initially dealt with a lady called Annie I explained my circumstances and requirements, I am based in London and the property which I am buying is in Plymouth . Annie was wonderful from liaising with my Estate Agent and allowing me to be around during the start of the survey

I am a complete novice and this is my first property purchase and had a few questions I wanted to ask whilst in the property myself with a professional.

I had already had a survey completed but wasn’t happy with the content or service from another company and therefore chose to have another survey.I met a gentleman named Phill at the property who was extremely polite and professional and allowed me to express my concerns what with being a first time buyer and unsure what in particular to look out for . Phill was fabulous and allowed me to ask him question as well as advising me on a few things i wasn’t sure of . I received my survey report within 48 hours .

I wish I had booked with Property Surveys Devon originally

10/10 service and availability and a thorough report answering many questions in regards to my new home .

feedback for Property Surveys Devon.

I found the report (homebuyers) to be worded plainly and with no
unnecessary jargon. There are plenty of photographs to support any
findings along with explanations.

The level of detail in the report was high, containing checks I had not
expected, overall I get am impression of a very thorough job.

The cost was slightly more than I intended to pay but other reviews
convinced me it was worth the money, I would recommend their services.
