Optimising Your Account

With the property market seemingly more active, some of you are seeing significant increases in the number of leads being delivered. Whilst for many this is welcome new business, for others it can result in receiving more leads than can be easily followed up or converted. So we thought it an appropriate time to share a few tips on ways in which you can optimise your leads to get the best from your account.

We provide a number of ways in which you can optimise your account to restrict the number of leads and manage your costs on a permanent or temporary basis.

Budget Cap

The most obvious, and the most simplistic, is to ask us to set a cap on the total number of leads per month. However this is usually not the best solution, as there are other methods you can use which can reduce the number of leads and improve your return:

Reduce Survey Types Offered

Reducing the survey types you offer can be a good alternative to capping your account - for example, if you offer all the three main survey types that make up the vast majority of leads, Building Surveys, HomeBuyer Reports and Valuation Surveys, then you might want to consider temporarily suspending one or more of these, starting with Valuations, then HomeBuyer Reports, as logic suggests keeping the survey types with the highest fees attached live.

An advantage of this approach is that with the budget cap, once you hit the cap all leads are stopped, which means that you might be receiving too many leads to handle for a couple of weeks, then not have enough. Temporarily suspending a survey type will reduce the number of leads over a longer period, and allow you to focus on the highest value surveys over the whole month. Individual survey types can be easily suspended and reactivated to suit your current need so this is a good way of controlling lead volumes.

Reduce Postcode Coverage

An alternative to this is to reduce your postcode coverage. Dropping postcode districts further from your home base to concentrate on leads from areas with the least travelling time and cost is another option. The process of dropping and re-adding postcodes is slightly more complicated than pausing survey types, so this might be more relevant should your number of leads be consistently more than you can handle. It also has the advantage of making you appear local - feedback from users tells us that they prefer to see results from, and are more likely to instruct local firms.

Use our Holiday Pause Function

Don't forget our Holiday Pause function - you don't have to be going on holiday to use this! It can be used to pause your account at any time to manage any temporary peaks in activity as well as when you are taking a break. You can pause your account for just a day or two or for longer periods to help manage your lead flow and work load.

I was pleasantly suprised to receieve a call from Ross, who had completed my survey minutes before. He walked me through the issues and clarified any questions or concerns I had. This was an above and beyond service, to which I am very grateful. This is my first house and of course have my own concerns about the process. It is people like Ross however that makes things less stressful and indeed a wholly better experience all around. If you are reading this, thank you.

We chose Brampton House Surveys to do our report and they were excellent. Good value for money, very knowledgeable, wonderful customer service - if they said they would get back to you, they did, they kept you up to date with everything. We would especially like to thank Michelle, who helped us with everything we wanted to know in a competent, knowledgeable and polite way which made things a lot easier. Thank you for an excellent service 😊👍

I found it very useful in finding a charterd surveyor in a town not known to me. In addition I was able to compare the companies listed together with their fees. On contacting my chosen firm they were well organised and quickly arranged a date for the survey.

Needed a reinstatement valuation for building insurance purposes. Didn’t know where to start and wasn’t even sure what product I was looking for but this site was a great start and I got exactly what I needed from it. Vendors were quick to provide quotes and I had my survey completed and the report provided within a few days.

Excellent response. Thanks to all your messages but unfortunately the estate agent gave my house to someone else after saying offer excepted and go ahead with survey. Hopefully soon another property will be needing a surveyor. Thanks to you all.
